On 10 August 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, and Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), together with Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN and Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations, AIHD, Mahidol University, held a meeting with Dr. Maria Chiara Campisi, Programme Coordinator, International Development Law Organization (IDLO), to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged information on initiatives to promote the health and well-being of students and staff in higher education institutions and identified areas of mutual interest for future collaboration. Particular emphasis was placed on integrating legal approaches to the prevention of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) into university-level curricula, with a focus on healthy diets and physical activity as key measures for NCD prevention.
The meeting also included a discussion of the upcoming “Regional Academic Workshop: Integrating Legal Approaches for NCD Prevention into Multi-disciplinary Academic Teaching,” tentatively scheduled for 23–25 September 2026. The workshop is expected to serve as an important step toward strengthening engagement and fostering future collaboration between the two organizations.
